ENVIRONMENT SOCIAL ACTION PLAN - ESAP
- UKEF, through the Independent Environmental consultant RINA (D'Appolonia) has conducted
the Gap analysis (ESDD) of the initial ESIA (Environment Impact assessment) of the Project
from the IFC standards and the NEMA (National Environment Management Authority)
Uganda regulations.
- Based on the observations of this report, SBI has developed Environmental and Social
Management plans to mitigate any Environment and Social Impacts due to the Project in the
Footprint area.

For successful implementation of these management plans, SBI has developed the action
plan and monitoring template of the same. SBI hence developed an ESAP team by Hiring
domain experts and consultants for each specialised phase.

RECENT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS

Regular Monthly The health camp - was conducted at Nyakasinini and was attended by 92 (64 m, 24f) community members. 80 were tested for HIV of
which 1 (1m) was found HIV positive. 28 were tested for Hepatitis B virus and 1 (1m) were found positive. 11 people were tested for Malaria and 2 were
found to be positive. These Community Medical Camps are conducted on a monthly basis in all villages near the project footprint area
